A new weekend has arrived! Today is the next installment in my unexpected blessings series. This one is a little simple and yet it is huge and affects our whole life now. How’s that for lead in? 🙂
About two and a half years ago we moved to our new house. Our previous home was a great house and we were very happy there, however we always wanted to be a bit further out in the country with a little more property. So we found an awesome house!
Or so we thought.
We were pretty thrilled with a really neat house that had an older base with a huge add-on with great possibility. There was a lovely little piece of property which was level and fenced. Best of all, there was an awesome “club house” – a great tree house that was nestled close to the ground in a couple of trees with a bar, tables, play area, you name it! The kitchen was adorable and the master bedroom suite was something out of a home design magazine. So we started the buying process.
Unfortunately, the process went wrong in several ways. Next thing we knew we had 72 hours to find the house of our dreams before the contract on our original house would fall through. Thanks to the most awesome real estate agent and a car full of patient kids, we found what we thought was the next best house.
Fortunately, that contract worked out and as we got closer to settlement we really began to feel great about our new house. We ended up with almost twice the property and a much better layout for our family. Soon we were falling in love with our new place. We found awesome features that we weren’t even looking for. Not only that, we have plenty of space to finish the way we want it.
So for the last couple of years we have found more and more things to love about our new house. We are ridiculously blessed to have a safe and comfortable house but it’s even got perks that we never expected.
The blessing was trusting that what wouldn’t work out resulted in something even better. Now we know that this home of ours is what we really needed and we are very thankful to know that we are looked after and cared for by Someone who knows all. 🙂
Peace and health,
